Purple Engineering About Sanoj
Sanoj Chathuranga is CEO of Purple Engineering, the Australian company behind Purple Heat Exchangers. Purple supplies heat exchangers and thermal equipment, strainers, industrial filtration and pipe welding equipment, and holds Australian distribution rights for a number of world-renowned brands. Sanoj leads the business alongside founder Alex Ocean.
His background is technical. Sanoj graduated from Uva Wellassa University in 2018 with a Bachelor of Science in Mineral Processing and spent three years as a QA and Product Development Executive at Kahatagaha Graphite Lanka, learning where equipment specifications hold up in real operating conditions and where they quietly fail. The same thinking applies to a heat exchanger: the duty on the datasheet has to hold up against the real fluids, flow rates and temperatures it will see in service.
He joined Purple Engineering in 2021 in technical sales support, matching equipment to customers' applications and solving problems on site. He became Chief Operating Officer in 2024, responsible for operations, supplier partnerships and team development, and was appointed Chief Executive Officer in 2026.
Sanoj's focus is strengthening the supplier partnerships behind Purple's range and making sure every customer receives equipment that is right for the job, not simply what is easiest to supply.
