Ronald Patron, known as Ron, is a Senior Engineer in Purple Engineering's estimating and quoting team, which prepares quotes for Purple Heat Exchangers' heat exchangers and thermal equipment alongside the wider Purple range. He is a mechanical engineer with 35 years in industry.
Ron's career spans manufacturing, mining, chemical processing and oil and gas, with senior roles in reliability, maintenance and project management. He was Reliability, Maintenance and Project Manager at Orica Nitrates, Senior Reliability Engineer at copper smelter and refinery PASAR, and Project Manager and Business Development Manager at BTSMC Managing Solutions.
His project work includes greenfield project management for an FMCG printing plant, a rehabilitation assessment of an ammonium nitrate plant, and managing the transition of an oil refinery into an oil depot hub.
Having spent much of his career responsible for keeping process plants running, Ron understands what equipment has to do once it is installed. On a heat exchanger quote, that means looking past the model number to the fluids, flow rates, temperatures and operating conditions the unit will actually face. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Mapua Institute of Technology and joined Purple Engineering in 2022.
